Our Story
Chef-grade tools for people who actually cook.
Umite Chef started with a broken spatula: the third one in a year, snapped mid-flip against a cast iron pan. The tools most kitchens run on are built to look fine in a photo and survive a demo, not to work night after night against real heat. We thought home cooks deserved the same standard a line cook demands: tools that flex where they should, hold stiff where it counts, and never melt into dinner.
That standard shows up in the details. Our silicone heads are food-grade and BPA-free, rated to 446°F: a number we test against, not just print. Almost every spatula and turner carries a stainless steel core, so the tool transfers force instead of folding around it. Handles come three ways — solid acacia, anti-scald wood or 18/8 stainless, because how a tool feels in the hand decides whether you reach for it.
From utensils to a whole kitchen
What began with utensil sets grew the way a kitchen does: mixing bowls with airtight lids and grater discs, enameled cast iron heavy enough for real bread, matte black flatware with proper balance, vacuum tumblers for the commute. Everything ships in coordinated colorways, khaki, black, gray, cream, so the kitchen you build looks like one decision, not twelve compromises.
What we hold ourselves to
- Food-grade, BPA-free silicone on every head: verified per production run
- Stainless cores in tools that take force; real wood and 18/8 steel in handles
- Heat ratings we test, not marketing numbers
- Colorway consistency across product lines, batch after batch
- Prices that reflect materials, not advertising budgets
